Use TN.tax with your AI assistant

Claude, ChatGPT or your own agent can add your properties, upload documents and follow your appeal. If you allow it, it can also sign and pay for you.

In Settings, open Connectors and add a custom connector with this address:

Claude Code, scripts and your own agent

Make a key in Settings and use it as a bearer token. For Claude Code:

Agents that take an HTTP API can use /openapi.json with the same key.

An AI agent in your browser

Sign in to TN.tax and ask the agent. Our account pages give it the same tools as a connected assistant, so it does not have to guess its way around the page. If the agent signs in for you, the sign-in email also has a code you can read to it.

What your assistant can do

  • See your properties, appeals, documents and bills
  • Add properties and fill in who owns them
  • Upload photos, estimates and financials, or send you a link to add them from your phone
  • Answer questions about your appeal from TN.tax's own help
  • Send the TN.tax office a message for you
  • Ask your phone to start texts. They begin when you reply YES

What only you can do

  • Add or change the card on file
  • Share the account with someone
  • Delete account data
  • Change the account email

For these, the assistant sends you a link and you finish the step yourself.

If you allow it

Sign for me

  • Off until you turn it on, for one assistant at a time.
  • It shows you the terms and signs only when you tell it to.
  • The signature is yours, as if you signed it yourself.
  • We email you a copy each time, with a link to cancel it until we file.

Pay for me

  • Off until you turn it on.
  • It pays an open TN.tax invoice with the card you saved with us, when you tell it to.
  • It never sees the card number. Stripe emails you the receipt.

How a handoff works

    Your assistant does the work it can

    It adds your properties, fills in the details and asks you for documents. If you allowed it, it also signs and pays when you tell it to.

    It reaches a step that is yours

    It asks TN.tax to send you the link. We email it to you, and text it if you chose texts.

  3. 3

    You finish it on your phone

    A signing link opens your authorization with everything filled in. It takes about two minutes and needs no password.

    Your assistant carries on

    It can check that the step is done, then moves to what is next.

Questions

Is it safe to connect an assistant?
The assistant acts only on your account, and only after you allow it. It never sees a card number. It signs or pays only if you turn on Sign for me or Pay for me for it. Settings shows what it did, and you can disconnect it there at any time.
Can my assistant sign my authorization for me?
Yes, if you turn on Sign for me for it, when you connect it or later in Settings. It signs only when you tell it to, after it shows you the terms. The signature is yours, as if you signed it yourself. We email you a copy each time, with a link to cancel it until we file.
Can it pay my bill?
Yes. With Pay for me turned on, it can pay an open TN.tax invoice with the card you saved with us. An assistant that carries your card in its own wallet, such as Stripe Link, can pay without it. We have nothing to bill unless your value comes down.
Will it ask for my Social Security number?
It should not. TN.tax does not need your Social Security number, taxpayer ID or bank account number for an informal review. If an assistant asks for one, do not give it.
Does it cost anything?
No. Connecting an assistant is free. The fee for your appeal is the same, and is charged only if your value comes down.
Can my assistant file a formal appeal?
No. TN.tax files informal reviews with the county assessor. We do not file formal appeals or appear before a board of equalization, and neither does your assistant through us.
Can it look without changing anything?
Yes. Make a key in Settings and tick Look only. That assistant can read your account but not change it.
