The Nashville property tax rate

Metro Nashville has two tax districts. Your property is in one of them, and your tax bill names it. The Metro Council kept both rates for 2026.

Nashville property tax rate, 2025

Urban Services District$2.814$703.50
General Services District$2.782$695.50

A home is taxed on 25% of its appraised value. That part is the assessed value, and the rate is a charge on each $100 of it. At $2.814, a Nashville home pays $703.50 a year for each $100,000 of appraised value. Figure the tax on your own value.

Who sends the bill and when it is due

A Nashville property tax bill is a Davidson County bill. The Metropolitan Trustee mails it in October. Pay in full by the last day of February to avoid interest.

Six smaller cities are inside the county: Belle Meade, Berry Hill, Forest Hills, Goodlettsville, Oak Hill and Ridgetop. Some of them add a city rate.

Who sets the value

The Davidson County Assessor of Property sets the appraised value of every Nashville property. The city does not appraise property. If the value is too high, the tax is too high, and you can ask the Assessor to review it.

Metro has a tax freeze for owners age 65 or older with a 2025 income of $63,470 or less.

Davidson County property tax has the Assessor’s office, how to ask for a review, the tax relief programs and the reappraisal years.
